Work Description
The work employs a parametric generative logic to construct an organic “Taihu stone” that exists between the natural and the artificial.
Its form is not shaped through physical carving, but molded within the flow of algorithms, logical constraints, and time—emerging through parameters, transforming through computation, and revealing in its evolution the pulse of organic structures and living forms.
In this work, technology is no longer merely a medium of representation, but a mode of reflection on being itself. The recursive operation and logical framework of the algorithm place the “stone” within a dynamic process of generation: it gestures toward the slow evolution of nature while responding to the ontological shifts of materiality in the digital age. Existence thus ceases to be stable, becoming instead a data-driven, historical manifestation—a “temporary concretization” at a particular point in time.
Through the logic of computation, the work reenacts nature’s contingency and impermanence, using virtual parameters to simulate the constancy within the ephemeral. Each act of generation becomes a microcosmic evolution—the ephemeral is more than a moment, the eternal is never fixed; being flows within transience, while permanence reveals itself within the fleeting instant.
