Beyond Earthly Rivers, Between Veiled Peaks
When Wang Ximeng of the Northern Song Dynasty, at the age of eighteen, wielded his brush to create A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, he likely never imagined that the azure-and-green landscapes, refined from mineral pigments, would become an unfulfilled ideal spanning millennia. On silk, with texture strokes as bones and colors as soul, what solidified was not any specific mountain but an extreme vision of eternity—an ambition to encompass heaven and earth within a finite scroll and defy time with mineral hues. Thus, the inquiry of Boundless Rivers and Mountains becomes clear: If the aesthetic DNA of blue-green landscapes has long been embedded in the folds of civilization, can we let this unfinished dialogue continue to grow in the language of light?
As a digital art studio born at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, we are committed to experimenting with new forms of presentation of light, shadow, and image through the fusion of multiple media. In this graduation project exhibition, we are about to bring a brand new light and shadow performance work "Infinite Horizon"
