As Yifeng is considered a “green” place, I would like to dedicate half of my show (2 minutes) to global problem of pollution.
In my animation I chose to show the nature and underwater worlds as magical places, there are animals dancing and trash seems colorful and pretty. It symbolizes the ignorance of people, while it is not in their neighborhood river they imagine it’s not there, or as I symbolize it - they are imagining it beautiful to ignore it.
In an abstract sense, I’m talking about how everyone is focused on “saving nature” these days, but we need to remember—we are nature. So, let's stop saying things like, "What can I do alone?" or "I can't change the world by myself." Comments like, "Why bother sorting trash when someone else will just litter again?" or "Everyone eats tuna, so my choice won’t make a difference" are excuses that hold us back.
Change starts small—by transforming ourselves first. Energy has real power. One person can inspire another, and that ripple effect can grow. Start with YOU, because you are nature. Save yourself, and in doing so, you’ll help save the world.
In the second part (2 minutes) I would like to visualize a little world of nature full with bamboo and carved animals, as one of art forms popular in Yifeng county is wood carving.
The added sound is original work of me and my friend Ieva Matveja. So the sound will be made specifically for the animation concept with a sound of bamboo in the wind, wood carving sounds while animals will run and so on. There will be sound effects matching the animation. I did not have a chance to use more mapping techniques, such as building moving and changind texture, but in the final subbmission I will use these techniques.
