Intro: Kit Webster is a Melbourne-based audiovisual artist who creates immersive environments and sculptures using projection mapping, LED, laser and spatial sound. His practice brings light, form, technology and musical composition together through rhythm, colour and geometry. Webster's work has been presented internationally across festivals, museums, galleries, public spaces and major cultural events. Selected presentations and commissions include World Expo 2020 Dubai, Vivid Sydney, Dark Mofo, Mapping Festival Geneva, Signal Festival Prague, Scienceworks, Light Art Museum Budapest and the Macallan Distillery opening in Taipei. His installation The Urchin, created with Electrolight, received an IALD Award, while Prismatica received a Vimeo Staff Pick. His current work explores responsive audiovisual systems in which projected light and sound interact with physical materials, sculptural structures and movement. Through projects such as Orbital, he is developing new relationships between unstable physical behaviour and real-time digital interpretation.
