My Name Is Ann

My Name Is Ann takes you on a journey where EDM, poetry, storytelling, and crafted songwriting converge into a unique musical experience; where pop music and personal stories are a springboard for untamed experimentalism. A hedonistic guerilla girl wielding wild synths, buzzing bass, a vibrating Nintendo unit, and a saxophone strapped around her neck, MY NAME IS ANN is a wild kind of live electronic music. The Shelter Tour involves sensor-based synchronization of dance, visuals, and music.  The result: a highly immersive audio-visual experience. Lenka Morávková aka MY NAME IS ANN is a Czech musician, producer, sound artist, and performer. Combining the technical skills of an electronic producer with the sensibilities of an accomplished musician and vocalist, M/N/I/A// explores the uncharted realm where conceptual art becomes pumping club music, and club music becomes a meaningful, intimate experience. Armed on stage with her software, voice and live instruments (saxophone, Nintendo, pianos, synthesizers), MY NAME IS ANN glides seamlessly between the electronic bass scene and experimental pop, with a sound that is accessible yet visionary. Following critically-acclaimed albums Reciclatge, The World Is My Oyster,  the latest Shelter EP , plus album of SHELTER remixes (including Jonathan Snipes from Clipping), My Name Is Ann is currently presenting the Shelter Tour, which brings new media art and contemporary dance to the club stage. The show was born out of collaborations with Czech fellow dancers and band members Svatava and Šárka Kobzovi,  and leading Czech new media collective Lunchmeat, with whom the choreography- based organic visuals for the tour were developed.    Over the last few years, My Name Is Ann has toured widely across the Czech Republic, Europe, the Balkans, and the U.S. West Coast. She has performed at such prestigious festivals as Colors of Ostrava and Enter (Czech Republic), Audiovisual Brasil and Cau d’ Orrella (Barcelona), and Femfest (Ljubjana). Currently, she is working on a new release for 2019 and hitting the stages of LA and Europe.
