Nonexistent is an immersive interactive art work that combines virtual reality, hardware and software communication, data visualization and other multiple mew media technologies.
A virtual reality scene, a physical lighting scene, in which the virtual port and the physical serial port simultaneously receive the sound rhythm data transmitted from the same terminal, and construct two completely corresponding fields. In reality, a dancer immerses himself/herself into a virtual space through a VR helmet, making an instant response based on the stroboscopic rhythm of the virtual light matrix. At the same time, the dancer's muscle stretching and vibration real-time data create real-time feedback with the live sound rhythm, dancer's acceleration of the momentum is related to the magnitude of the change of the abstract geometry in the virtual scene. The degree of block variability of the geometry is proportional to the magnitude of the momentum.
Both the real scene and the virtual field are formed by the dancer's reaction to the scene. The sound generated in the scene and the motion deformation of the geometry are controlled by the dancer's momentum data, and the resulting live results influence the dancer's next second of the movement. The variables of the data are generated by undeterminable human, but the human in the field are exactly in the center of the influence range of the variables they produce, thus forming an embedded cycle system of data between the real and the virtual.
