High-Speed Train is a browser-based generative audiovisual work about the growing gap between technological acceleration and human perception. Originating from the failure of an outdated mobile phone to record a landscape moving past a high-speed train, the work transforms fragmented images, motion trails, digital noise, and unstable sound into an aesthetics of desynchronization. For Urban Digital Canvas Shanghai, the work can expand into a collective system in which participants contribute images and sounds that are continuously transformed and recombined into a shared urban audiovisual landscape. Rather than representing the city as a stable image, the work treats the public screen as a perceptual instrument—one that reveals a city experienced through fragments, acceleration, and incomplete synchronization.
