This video installation is a visual exploration of the influence of various Asian cultures on the artist, at the intersection of which he was born and raised. The artist embodied this shift, or rather say an "adaptation," in a four-channel video installation, consisting of the «MÖBIOTROPE» series and supplemented by photographs from which the original video works were created.
The main visual technique here is the inertia or persistence of human vision, which transforms a series of images into a complete single picture. The children's toy Thaumatrope uses this optical characteristic and becomes a tool for reimagining the visual patterns of the various urban environments. These «windows» eventually form a loop in which, like the Möbius strip, the concept of the «other» side is absent per se.
Every of these sequences retains a certain heredity in terms of imagery, but with each new view explores it from the different angles, adding new qualities and thus complementing the overall bigger picture.
