Dialogue
This installation consists of two chairs positioned face to face. The rough, primitive stone chair is often reduced to its singular utilitarian function, even predating the very concept of a "chair"; while the fully cyberized electronic chair carries layered metaphors of power relations surrounding identity, hierarchy and presence. The two gaze upon and interrogate one another in a cross-temporal dialogue.
Through the interplay between two distinct material forms — primitive stone and cyber-electronic mechanics — the work examines how the evolution of human civilization shapes the materiality of physical entities, as well as the interactive dynamics between materiality and social practice in the post-AI era, and further explores humanity’s sense of belonging and position within this landscape.
