《The Dream of Robots 》is an art project exploring the subconscious of embodied artificial intelligence, presented as an integrated media installation driven by AI that combines real-time generative visuals and robotic behaviors. When an audience enters the space, an embodied humanoid robot gazes back, capturing their biological and social characteristics such as facial features, clothing, and posture. The robot then enters a “sleep” state, transforming these fragments of reality into cognitive seeds, generating a unique, fluid, and diffusion-style “dream” sequence in real time.
The visual language of the dream is based on particle diffusion, simulating the computational process of adding and removing noise—core mechanisms of AI generative models. By linking the generative logic of the “diffusion model” to the mechanism of human dreaming, the work constructs an anthropomorphic cognitive system of “Observation-Internalization-Generation.” This metaphor reflects the “imagination” on which artificial intelligence relies when reconstructing reality, offering a poetic interpretation of how AI perceives the world. Moving beyond the question of how intelligence “thinks,” the piece seeks to establish a deeper resonance and metaphorical dialogue between humans and machines on spiritual and cognitive levels.
