Chongqing Light Art Festival 2024 - Petko Tanchev Original

Projection mapping for the Chongqing Light Art Festival, held on January 1, 2024 Year of the Dragon.

Last year, I was invited by the MANA Platform, together with other Chinese and international artists, to take part in the curatorial program of the Chongqing festival! The topics suggested to me were Chinese local culture / Abstract art / 2D.

My concept aims to interpret the traditional arts in the region, such as calligraphy, engraving, Sichuan opera, and the ancient stage techniques of face-changing and fire-breathing. The project also draws inspiration from the contemporary architectural shape of the projection facade, reflecting the city's mountainous topography.
