The work envisions a future in which human beings are forced to move wild animals into zoos to ensure their normal survival due to the destruction of the ecological environment. It has been discovered that dolphins in aquariums suffer from a heritable congenital mental illness due to long-term captivity. By integrating the gene related to plant synthetic cysts into the fertilized eggs of dolphins, human beings have bred a kind of green dolphin with cysts in its blood, which can be cured of the mental illness by the light-stimulated light-reaction of cysts in its blood to produce ATP and NADPH, but the green dolphins born from these experiments are themselves irreversibly affected. The green dolphins born from these experiments are themselves irreversibly affected. The work uses discursive design as a vehicle to criticize the alienation of human ecological ethics and to satirize the blind optimism and dependence of human beings on technology to transform the future, and warns human beings that "it is precisely these self-smart behaviors of human beings that are making dolphins green," and at the same time, puts the question to the viewers: are human beings saving dolphins to a certain degree as well? and puts the question to the audience: are humans also saving the dolphins to some extent? What are the ethical limits of what we can afford? What are the future standards of ecological ethics?
The ethical contradictions of the New Age provide artists and designers with a wealth of creative opportunities. Artists and designers can use their unique expertise to identify and explore potential problems of⽣ ethics and propose new ways of thinking and possible solutions, even if they do not act as problem-solvers, to achieve a more mature global ethics with the idea of ensuring the sustainability of people and nature.
