Moonlight Melody is a real-time generative, experimental sound visualization work.
Different color modules are randomly generated as the piano keys fall. The installation
combines digital images with moonlight, which vibrates in front of the audience as
they play notes. When people face the night sky like navy blue curtain, the night sky
dotted with stars, clouds over Yuehua Lake. The German poet Lyerstad said, "Like a boat on the
moonlit surface of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland." What kind of mood did Beethoven
and Lyerstad embrace a hundred years ago? This work simulates the wind and
moonlight at that time again, enabling the audience to experience the overlapping of
time and space through the digital picture and music by playing the piano. It may also
be the place where the heart comes to rest, to feel the past, the present and the
future.
