MIRROR - Interactive video installation
MIRROR builds a bridge between the possibilities of traditional fine arts and digital imaging – by standing in front of the monitor, we can shape the silhouette of our own self-portrait reflected on the screen in the frame with the movements of our own body. In many cases, Impressionist portrait paintings with wide brushstrokes and vibrant colors can only be identified cloudily for the viewer. Based on the optical illusion of tiny misty dots, soft outlines and vibrant light-shadow effects are building a unique experience of capturing the moment on a canvas. Just like the blurring contours of digitally captured flashes snatched from reality, the changing movements and lights are constantly reflecting on the passing time.
