The “Skylight” is a complex scenery demonstrating multiple skylines created by INCAL Studio. INCAL Studio encode Bin Gong’s “Sunset series”
paintings, create an installation artwork formed by two units: the “Four seasons” and the “Sunrise”.
The “Four seasons” installation encodes the paintings to a fluidic vision on LED matrix. Children and adults are able to enjoy the sky view from
different horizons. Watching the screens elaborately fixed above at different altitudes, audiences can experience the periodic four seasons: vibrant spring and summer, peaceful autumn and winter.
The “Sunrise” installation demonstrates a sun and moon prospect on grassland. Utilising a sphere manufactured by 3D printing, audiences are able to control the movement of an alternative sun/moon object on a spectacular landscape built by mathematical modelling. Equipped with wireless communication modules, the gyroscope embedded in the sphere enables audience to have precise control of the sun/moon object and day/night transformation through rotation of the sphere. In the meantime, the edge of the semi-sphere screen displays a dynamic spectrum which tracks the path of the sun/moon object.
