Digital Art
Architecture Social Club is an award-winning design and research studio, occupying the space between architecture, art, digital, and engineering.
Our collective brings together diverse disciplines to create spatial experiences that tell compelling stories and engage people in playful and meaningful ways.
We research, design and make, whilst exploring new techniques and methods that we infuse into our work. Our interventions are boldly experimental and poetic, ranging from audiovisual installations to beautifully crafted objects.
Aether is a light field installation developed with musician Max Cooper. It takes the viewer on a journey through the potential of human endeavours, from beauty and wonder to destruction and pain. The design particularly lends itself to work in harmony with musical content generating moments of vivid sensory enrichment.
The objective of our collaboration was to see whether we could complement the energy and narrative of the music spatially. We wanted to create a piece that would have a sensory impact on the audience whilst also being tourable as a musical instrument in and of itself.
Aether had its UK debut at Lumiere London 2018. The installation was visited by half a million people over four nights.
