Revolution
Recycling Furniture is a self-sustaining non-profit organization that collects donations of used furniture, restores the pieces to a like-new condition through volunteer service, and donates to families in need. A portion of Recycled Furniture’s extra (or “overflow”) furniture stock is sold to the public at a Recycling Furniture store, and/or online, helping to fund the charitable leg of the organization.
Recycling furniture serves all residential communities where furniture is in demand. Our target consumers are: A) low-income, B) partner families with Habitat for Humanity, a charitable organization which builds homes for low-income families, C) thrifty consumers who are in the market for “like-new” furniture at relatively low cost to retail buying alternatives, and D) average consumers looking for vintage or hard-to-find furniture styles.
The furniture market today is a multi billion-dollar industry in the US alone, and represents a costly expense for both renters and homeowners alike. Recycling Furniture aims to enter the market as a non-profit organization, providing free (and in many cases low-cost) alternatives to buying from traditional furniture retailers. The organization plans to launch in the US market, and has the potential to expand to developed nations world-wide.
