The Digital Media Teaching and Research Section of the School of Media at Nanjing Institute of Visual Arts was officially established in September 2015. After years of development, it has become a core hub for the college's integration with the digital creative industry. The section currently oversees two highly sought-after programs: Digital Media Art Design and Digital Media Technology, which are designed to meet specific industry demands.Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Art-Science Integration" and "Theory-Practice Unity," its curriculum covers cutting-edge fields such as film and television visual effects (VFX), 3D animation, UI/UX design, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) applications. Supported by state-of-the-art facilities including an all-media studio, motion capture labs, and digital imaging workshops, the section employs a distinctive "Project-Based + Studio" teaching model. This approach incorporates real-world enterprise cases into the classroom to deepen industry-academia collaboration and collaborative education.Keeping pace with the times, AIGC (Generative Artificial Intelligence) technologies have been integrated into the core curriculum. The section is dedicated to cultivating high-quality, interdisciplinary talents who possess strong aesthetic sensibilities, solid artistic foundations, and proficient digital skills. Graduates are widely employed by film and media companies, major internet firms, and game or animation enterprises across the Yangtze River Delta region, serving as indispensable technical and skilled backbones for the regional cultural and creative industries.
