Guangdong University of Technology School of Art and Design - Future Extensions Art Lab was established in October 2018. It is based on the team of new media and the team established by tutors and graduate students. It is aimed at new media technology, art and communication. The laboratory currently has 18 students in the laboratory, which focuses on the research of new media in the field of international vision. At the same time, it focuses on emerging art, new media stage art performances, and digital communication of non-legacy cultures. It is committed to serving the mass audience and giving them an international sharing of new media platforms. The laboratory relies on the technical background of a strong engineering college, with the integration of “digital technology” and “media design” as its core strengths, and emphasizes the cross-border innovation capability of strengthening technology and art; what’s more，it bases on Guangdong's strategic emerging digital ideas industry, and then extensively carries out diversified cooperation and exchanges modes with international institutions and different fields in Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, etc. Regularly hold international cutting-edge workshops and lectures, it combines academics with online courses and offline sharing of exchanging activities to promote innovative exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Western art and technology.
