Vasily

Intro： With a degree in Computer Science and Math and a Master's degree in Art, Vasily is a transmedia artist, based in Shanghai, who works in different fields with a wide understanding of art and technology. He started by photography and math until moving to interactive art and new media. Largely exhibited in China, Russia, South Korea, through all his work we can see main topics – the feelings (expression of personal feelings through photography, video, light or even computer algorithm), idea of communication (with space, with people, with spectators and research about randomness and its effect on our life. Vasily's work was also published in art and design magazines such as Cirkumfleksmag, NOW, Bucle.de, MuseMag, and so on. Several times awarded for his work, he was a silver medalist of the international exhibition of children's art in Japan, a finalist of “best Russian documentary photographer” at The Best of Russia and received the “Leica Oscar Barnak Award” short-list at the International documentary photography award. At current moment Vasily holding position of New Media Creative Director at "Sokaris" transmedia, through which he created the concept design, light design and opening animation for Swatch, created an interactive screen at JiangWan Stadium metro station, realized a "Water Curtain" which is an interactive wall at 1862 Theater Shanghai, among other projects. Also he do a part time teaching at Shanghai Institute of Visual Art at “Technoetics art” department with “Creative Coding” courses.
