Nianqi Zhang 张念绮

Intro： Shenzhen-born, New York-based, I am a hybrid designer and storyteller. I hold a BA in Advertising from Sichuan University in Chengdu, and a Master’s in Interactive Telecommunications from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. With previous experience in digital agencies and media industry, my works reflect society and machines with various media as physical installations, live web, stories, and 3D design. My latest alternative reality sci-fi Evacuation discusses how children might be influenced by programmable toys in the background of the Opium War. A similar work style continues in my new media creation while offering the audience more controllers like networked music-making, praying and Synesthesia in VR as new variables to my experiments.
