Intro： Manas Epic Technology Studio, based at Minzu University of China, is a young creative team dedicated to exploring the integration of ethnic epic culture, artificial intelligence, and digital art. The studio focuses on the Epic of Manas as an important area of creative practice and research. Through digital art and AI-generated technologies, we explore new visual and contemporary expressions of ethnic epic culture, seeking innovative ways to reinterpret and communicate traditional culture in the digital age. Our competition entry, Manas: The Birth of a Hero, draws inspiration from the “Birth of the Hero” chapter of the Epic of Manas. Through script adaptation, character design, environment generation, storyboard development, and AI video generation, the team transforms the ancient epic into a digital animated work with a cinematic visual language. We believe in empowering culture through technology and telling epic stories through moving images. By presenting the Epic of Manas through a contemporary visual language, we hope to bring this ancient ethnic epic closer to younger audiences and explore new possibilities for the preservation, innovation, and transmission of traditional culture in the digital era.
