Intro: Catrinel (b. 1994) is an artist and designer working at the intersection of product design, installation, and sculpture. Her multidisciplinary practice is driven by experimental material research and informed by science and philosophy, with recurring interests in perception, time, entropy, light, and nature. Through light-based and interactive objects, she creates experiences that visualize invisible forces and subtly disrupt habitual ways of seeing. Using a combination of advanced industrial techniques—such as laser cutting—and manual processes like casting, her works balance technical precision with organic, natural phenomena. Her work has been presented internationally, including at Milan Design Week and Dutch Design Week, and has received distinctions such as a LIT Lighting Design Award and first prize in Product Design at Transylvanian Design Week. Her projects have been published by Design Wanted and Dzin. At the core of her practice lies a desire to create moments of pause—quiet encounters that reintroduce beauty, wonder, and contemplation into everyday life.
