Intro: Kaiqing Huang received his BFA from the China Academy of Art and is currently pursuing his MFA at the California Institute of the Arts, majoring in Art and Technology. He regards personal artistic creation as a continual process of learning and perceiving both the external world and the inner self. In this process, encounters with nature, human factors, and technological media all serve as interwoven bridges that stimulate reflection—extending outward as well as inward along the axis of material and spirit. The richness and plurality of Chinese culture, the rapidly shifting technological context of today, and the dynamic social tensions of the world are his primary areas of inquiry. Within these, he continually seeks to position and shape his own values—moving forward and backward along the axis of time and space.
