Intro: Daphne and Teng are an artist duo whose artistic practice is inspired by their shared experiences as Asian artists living in Western countries. They interpret their perspectives of Asian philosophy, interpersonal relationships and empathy through new media art. OVAH is a series of Teng’s new media art projects ranging from VR, wearable devices and performances inspired by his personal experience as an Asian queer artist, which has been exhibited at Ars Electronica Festival (Linz, Austria), Studio Wayne McGregor (London) Daphne is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and lighting designer for interactive installations, spatial experiences, audiovisual arts and live performances. Her Taiwanese heritage deeply influences her artistic sensibilities, resonating with Asian aesthetics, symbolism, and profound philosophical themes. In the male-dominated realm of lighting, Daphne's presence challenges gender norms, advocating for increased female representation. With a portfolio spanning global exhibitions and over 200 lighting productions for arena-scale live events, she showcases resilience and talent while contributing to gender equality dialogues within the field. Drawing from her experience in the Interactive Architecture Lab, Daphne explores the intricate connections between the mind, body, and physical space, delving into embodiment and sensory perception. Her immersive installations seamlessly blend visual, sound art, and interactive technology, inviting audiences to engage with their bodies and senses in novel ways.
