Intro: Leon Löwentraut, born in 1998 in Kaiserslautern, is currently one of the world's most sought-after contemporary artists, listed among Forbes „30 under 30“. His works have already been exhibited in New York, London, Copenhagen, Singapore, in the Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg, the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, in the renowned Osthaus Museum in Hagen as well as in the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice and in the Bank Austria Kunstforum Vienna. Löwentraut's works are created spontaneously and impulsively. The artist prefers to paint on the floor, using his entire body and accompanied by loud music. His subjects are diverse, oscillate between optimism and critique and frequently reveal the isolated person behind the social facade. Löwentraut's works always exude an unfettered lust for life and optimism. He is also known for his art campaigns “Global Goals” and “Global Gate”, one of the largest mobile sculptures in the world, which stood at Frankfurt Airport until 05/2021 and then moved to Dubai in front of the tallest building in the world. Both art campaigns deal with the issue of ‚sustainability‘, interpret it artistically and send it out to the world. With his current project "Volar", he is now making his art a digital and analogue experience. The soulful spatial installation was created in collaboration with the Masterclass of the Virtual Design program at Kaiserslautern UAS. For Löwentraut, painting feels like flying - to make this tangible, the students have developed an experience in which visitors can experience this feeling both analogously and digitally. Immersive. Interactive. Informative. Inspiring. (2022: Salzburg (AT) Madrid (ES) -more dates tbc.) Leon Löwentraut's first illustrated book has just been published. It is the first comprehensive monograph on his life's work to date and features 320 pages of his works with approximately 220 color photographs.
