Intro: Huanzhe Hu will complete her MFA in Digital + Media at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence in 2023. She graduated with a BFA degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beiing, China, majoring in Art and Technology and minoring in Photography. In 2018 and 2019, as an exchange student, she studied at the Parsons School of Design's Futures Studies and Speculative Design program as well as the Fine Art program at Tokyo University of the Arts. Her expansive curiosity and sensitivity drive her to seek free artistic expression, both in form and content. Through her multidisciplinary background, she explores installation, experimental film, photography, sound, and the connections between them. Hu embraces these toolkits to embody the intricate relationship between technology and fading spirituality in the modern era. Her work has been exhibited as part of ‘It's Time to Reduce the Backlog’ at Latitude Gallery in New York, ‘Séance Fiction’ in the Pfizer building, New York, ‘Transitory Void’ at Cyber art Gallery in Boston, MA, and 'Resurrection’ in the Factory Gallery, London. She is the recipient of CSC (China Scholarship Council) Scholarship, Margot & Thomas Pritzker Scholarship, and RISD Graduate Fellowships.
