Intro： The London based collective LUCEO consists of members Bertie Sampson, Haydn Nuttall and Jeroen van Dooren. LUCEO’s diverse work explores concepts related to the perception of time, consciousness and spatial experience through immersive installations, sculptures and video works. Visual art can be seen as a mode of experiencing the world itself as a conscious experience from a subjective point of view. This phenomenological view of art and of exploring art as a manner of experiencing the world itself is something we investigate in our work. Our experience shapes the meaning we give to objects and objects acquire meaning only by our experience of them. In our work we focus on the experience of the viewer and the interaction they have with our artworks. We aim to create new ‘worlds’ and encounters for people to experience. The works have visual references, and have taken inspiration from, the Light and Space art movement and Spatial Experience in architecture. The movement of light, sound and imagery gives a performative element to the sculptures and installations creating an otherworldly environment. Luceo is a immersive-me artistic practice.
