About
Sandro Bocci (1978, San Benedetto del Tronto, IT) is an Italian filmmaker and new media artist, founder of Julia Set Lab, an artistic collective that creates documentaries, immersive works, and experimental films. Working without CGI or AI, he creates immersive visual works through macro photography, optical experiments, and fluid dynamics. His footage has been featured in major productions including Voyage of Time and Song to Song by Terrence Malick and One Strange Rock produced by Darren Aronofsky, with collaborations spanning institutions such as National Geographic and UNESCO. Three of his short films—Meanwhile, Halo, and Titan—were each awarded the Vimeo Staff Pick. His films Meta and Àpeiron have been presented internationally across festivals and experimental cinema contexts. Bocci develops large-scale audiovisual installations, fulldome films, and immersive environments exhibited worldwide, including at CERN, MIT, and international festivals and planetariums. Alongside his artistic practice, his work has been widely licensed for cinema, television, and global campaigns through Filmsupply, with clients including HBO, Warner Bros., Google, and Sony.
