Intro: ARTivist-Queer-intersectionnnal-eco-feminist-anti-speciesist-Mom-Witch-Neurodivergent This is how Quebec artist Barbara Finck-Beccafico (she/they) aka Wållgren positions themselves in the artistic ecosystem. M.A. in Composition and Sound Creation from the University of Montreal, their electroacoustic compositions have been heard from the Montreal Ultrasons concert series, to the Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium and Venice Electroacoustic Rendez-vous. Their series of 6 activist multi-sensory installations "Conscience" were programmed at the Nuit Blanche in Montreal and in Paris. Their Wållgren audio-visual project has been seen in Korea, France, Canada, and the United States. Barbara also participated in multiple important festivals such as Ma Première Place des Arts (2019) and the Festival en Chanson de Petite Vallée (2015). They also collaborates constantly with choreographers and film directors to set their works to music. Since 2017, they have been developing the project DNA Poetry, a series of poetic audiovisual portraits of the biological and esoteric identity of the human being. This work was already selected for the Canvas International Art Fair 2022 in Venice, will be performed at RIPA 2022 festival in Montreal, and will be developed furthermore at the D'Arts et Rêves Residency in September 2022 in Québec. Committed to offering original artistic work, both in terms of the messages they explore, but also through the materials and techniques, Barbara Finck-Beccafico confronts the public with social themes, both theoretical and formal. They strive to bring together the general public as well as the more attuned, in a process of mindful exploration.
