Intro: Produced by the Weland Museum of Contemporary Art. Located on the banks of the Lhasa River, the museum was designed and built over ten years by its director, Xu Yinglong. It won Italy's A' Design Award (spatial design) in 2020 and was named one of Lhasa's "Top Ten Public Cultural Spaces" in 2025. Guided by the philosophy of "dwelling between the micro and the macro, traversing past and present, beholding the Himalayas," it is renowned for its 72 staggered latticed windows drawn from Tibetan cultural motifs and their interplay with light and shadow. Its collection features representative Tibetan heavy-color paintings by Han Shuli, Tsering Namgyal, and Langdun Dekyi, and its "Third Pole Artist Residency Program" has hosted nearly one hundred artists from China and abroad, making it a contemporary cultural landmark integrating art, cultural exchange, and lifestyle aesthetics. Director Liu Haofan, a new media artist, holds a master's degree from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts. His works were shortlisted for the Digital Media Short Film category at the 14th Beijing International Film Festival's Art Innovation Section; won First Prize (Professional Group) in the Immersive Video track of the 2025 China Innovative Imaging Competition; received the Silver Award for CAVE Immersive Design at the 4th "Light Year Award"; and were selected for the 2023 Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale, among other honors. His works have been shown at the London Design Festival, Deji Art Museum, Beijing Times Art Museum, and the boxx in Shanghai, with cross-disciplinary collaborations including Harvard's CAMLab, FIRST International Film Festival, Nova Heart, SWATCH, and Moutai.
