Lukas Truniger

Intro： Lukas Truniger is a new media and sound artist. His work is driven by the intangible, the invisible, the inaudible and the complex in nature as well as in society. He creates singular experiences challenging the modalities of perception, pinpointing unseen connections of artificial, natural and social systems to further blur their supposed separation. He appropriates the mimetic character of technology to shape speculative representations of transitory aspects of our being. These explorations can take the form of multimedia installations, artistic infrastructures, performances and the creation of new musical instruments. Born in Zürich (CH), he lives and works in Lille in northern France. He obtained a music degree from the Institute for music and media (IMM) in Düsseldorf (D) and a post gradual diploma in fine arts from Le Fresnoy – studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing (F). His work has been shown internationally in institutions such as the Ludwig Museum in Budapest (HU), Pearl Art Museum in Shanghai (CN), Fondation Vasarely in Aix-en-Provence (F), Harvestworks in New York City (US), Arsenal in Montreal (CA-QC) and La Villette in Paris (F) as well as at various festivals: MMMAD Festival in Madrid (E), Blooming Festival in Pergola (IT), Light Art Grindelwald (CH), Ars Electronica in Linz (AT), City Sonic in Louvain-la-Neuve (BE), Mapping Festival in Geneva (CH), Mirage Festival in Lyon (F), Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada (US), Retune Festival in Berlin (D), Lethargy Festival in Zürich (CH), Dark Circuits Festival in New York (US), Variation Media Art Fair in Paris (F), Sonica in Glasgow (UK), International Digital Arts Biennial (BIAN) in Montreal (CA-QC), International Symposium for Electronic Arts (ISEA) in Hong Kong, PrixCube in Paris (F), Festival 100% in Paris (F), Marrakech Biennale (MO) and E-Fest in Tunis (TU).
