Japan Kanagawa Intro： Teppei Yamada is a Japanese artist. Using sound, video, and ‘power’ in his multimedia installations, Teppei seeks to better understand the structure of the world around him. His experience as a child actor 16 years shaped his perspective on production. Teppei decodes external stimuli around him through his works and reflects upon his creations as mirrors to his true self.

第⼆届上海国际数字视觉展 “SHIFT+ VISUAL ⾏走的视觉”和“SHIFT+ MEDIUM ⾏走的媒介” https://www.manamana.net/activity/315/detail#!en 'Apart and/or together'源于一项构建和解构当代社会的研究，是一件试图将文化同质化的多变、易变过程视觉化的作品。作品由10个人的心跳组成，提醒人们在关于民族认同，种族差异，公民身份，多元文化，移民和难民的讨论中真实人类生活将趋于无形， 目的是通过我们的共同点而不是我们没有的共同点更好地了解彼此。 关于艺术家 Teppei Yamada 媒体艺术家 声音艺术家 雕塑家 现居日本，1979年生于东京，2009年于广岛市立大学艺术学部取得硕士学位。创作与其童年时期的儿童演员经历息息相关，通常使用声音，视频和能量的方式进行，并将其作品作为理解世界结构的一种方式。以全球社会结构的相似性和人类基本元素为主题的作品“Apart and/or Together”，获得了2019 Special Commendation at Aesthetica Art Prize (U.K)。

CV / EN Teppei YAMADA Statement My experience as a child actor from my childhood has influenced my work. It was a peculiar experience that required a constant removal of my own self to act as someone else. My work emerges out of dialogues with others including nonhuman and it was about rediscovery about my identity in the dialogues to construct my world, which was to some extent a realization of “In-der-Welt-sein” by Heidegger.
