Shanghai Hudec was staged in Duanjun theater of Shanghai drama academy from January 3 to 8, 2020. Zhao Wu, an associate professor of Shanghai drama academy, is the screenwriter and director of the graduation drama of the 2018 level performance major (upgraded) student of the school of continuing education. In terms of script structure, the drama is in a fast changing style of "cinematic drama". In the stage presentation, artdeco style is used as the visual support throughout the whole play in the multimedia design style, and the holographic screen projection adds the spatial perspective level, forming the stage effect of three spatial levels: performance area, holographic screen projection and behind the scenes space. The play describes the talented students graduated from the Royal Institute of technology, Budapest, who designed a series of classic buildings for Shanghai: the four bank savings association building, Hongen hospital (now East China Hospital), Normandy apartment (now Wukang building), international hotel, bright cinema, Multan (now muen Hall), and a large number of buildings for people's livelihood. When he was honorary consul of Hungary, Hudec, regardless of personal safety, stood up to rescue European refugees in Shanghai and Hungarian Jews in Shanghai, and wrote a revered chapter in the last years of Shanghai with his own righteousness. On January 6, 2020, Ms. Xin Liwei, consul of culture and education of Hungarian consulate in Shanghai, and Ms. Erika, consul of finance, were invited to watch the whole play of Shanghai Hudec, and took photos with the cast members of the whole play. The play has taken a solid step towards promoting Sino Hungarian friendship, responding to the national "one belt and one way" initiative and establishing cultural self-confidence. The visual design of the play is designed and guided by Cheng Yu, a digital media teacher from the school of art and design, Tianhua college, Shanghai Normal University.
