When a millennium-old Zhuang intangible cultural heritage festival encounters generative AI, how is its visual representation reconstructed? As an experimental short in theHeritage & Heart series, this film takes Guangxi’s Sanyuesan Festival as a cultural case study to explore the converging boundaries of AIGC and live-action footage in intangible heritage storytelling.
Departing from conventional documentary paradigms, the team employs end-to-end mobile cinematography layered with Jimeng AI generation to forge a novel cinematic grammar of "symbiotic virtuality." The scholarly rigor of historical research collides with Gen Z’s boundless imagination through algorithmic mediation, transforming abstract cultural roots into interactive, tangible, and playful visual signifiers. This work transcends mere digital translation of ethnic memory; it is a cinematic experiment probing how technology can empower youthful perspectives to reinterpret tradition. Ultimately, the film poses a critical question: within the context of future imagery, can ancient festivals break free from stereotypes and cultivate a vibrant vitality rooted in the present?
