King Zhou of Shang ruled with tyranny and cruelty. The fox spirit Daji meddled in state affairs and brought chaos to the court, while immortals of the Jiejiao Sect aided the tyrant in his misdeeds. As a result, the Three Realms fell into darkness, and ordinary people were displaced and suffering. Following the edict of Yuanshi Tianzun, the Chan Sect resolved to launch a campaign to overthrow the Shang Dynasty.
Carrying the God-Beating Whip and the List of Conferred Gods, Jiang Ziya descended from the immortal mountains to assist King Wu of Zhou. He led the Zhou army alongside numerous Chan Sect immortals to Muye, where they waged an epic, earth-shaking battle against the allied forces of Jiejiao immortals and Shang troops. The Zhou side defeated the Shang army overwhelmingly, executed Daji, and forced King Zhou to burn himself to death atop the Star-Picking Tower.
After the war, Jiang Ziya ascended the God-Conferring Platform on Qishan Mountain. He conferred official divine titles upon three hundred and sixty-five principal gods and established orderly hierarchy across the Three Realms. Thereafter, King Wu of Zhou implemented benevolent governance. Mortal civilians lived in peace and contentment, and celestial deities each performed their respective duties. In the end, a peaceful prosperous age arrived: the Three Realms enjoyed tranquility, and all mortal folk gave wholehearted allegiance to the new regime.
