Ten-year-old Xiaoyuan is about to take part in the first official football match of his life. Faced with brand-new cleats, a sleek jersey and a camera that can capture the game, he struggles to figure out what he truly wants for his birthday. It is not until his old football — his training partner for an entire year — suddenly goes missing that Xiaoyuan realizes the most precious things are not shiny new possessions, but the moments brimming with growth, companionship and memories.
On match day, Xiaoyuan does not score himself. Yet after falling to the ground, he gets back on his feet. With a composed ball trap and pass, he sets up his teammate for the match-winning goal. Years later, the grown-up Xiaoyuan rediscovers the footage his father shot for him on a well-preserved memory card. In it, he finds his own "champion moment" once more.
This is a heartwarming short film about football, the bond between father and son, and the memories forged as we grow. Some moments fade away, but love and courage carefully preserved will always stay with us.
