The creative inspiration stems from a verse in the Diamond Sutra: “All forms are illusory.” This mapping artwork seeks to intuitively convey the philosophical conception of “form” and “non-form” inherent to industrial buildings themselves. Cast in bronze-toned textures, these industrial structures stand witness to the passage of time: as traditional industries fade away, the bronze edifices lose their original metallic luster and vitality, succumbing to oxidation that spawns verdant patina and mottled textures across their surfaces. Yet this weathered green patina is by no means the end of the buildings’ life cycle. Within the layers of verdant rust lies latent new vigour and vitality.
