Poet Fernando Pessoa once wrote: “The astonishing reality of things is my discovery everyday.”
This film uses the poem of the same title as its voiceover, following a woman as she journeys from childhood’s old dreams into the bewilderment of adulthood. Those forgotten summers, the play of light by the window—gradually emerge in fragments of memory. Reality is astonishing, and yet exhausting—as she finds herself trapped in the monotonous adult world, the only one who can catch her is the little girl who once ran through the fields.
This is a look back at time, memory, and the self. Guided by the poetic narration, confusion is gently wiped away, and childhood becomes her final place of healing.
