“In the Dream” attempts to construct a virtual utopia stacked with dolls, figurines, and other collectibles, visualizing the hidden spiritual refuge of contemporary young people. These carefully collected yet not necessarily practical items serve as compensation for childhood deficiencies and as a temporary escape from reality. The work seeks to explore the emotional connections between people and objects through flashes between the virtual and the real. What is being collected is never the dolls themselves, but the unmet desires, the emotions with nowhere else to go, and the fleeting moments of peace in life.
