This work was presented in 2025 at the Schlosslichtspiele Karlsruhe organized by ZKM, under the title Dao The Flow of the Universe. Taking traditional ink painting as its visual foundation, it merges the philosophy of Dao from the East with the rational logic of modern Western science, attempting to establish a new form of visual narrative. The fluidity and blank space of ink become metaphors for the operation of the cosmos and the evolution of science, unfolding a vision of time, energy, and the cycles of life.

The design makes extensive use of abstract particle structures, swirling lines, and wave-like patterns to symbolize concepts such as the quantum world, gravitational waves, and energy fields. Scenes of black and gold collisions, curved folds, and rotating totems respond to contemporary physics and its exploration of the universe. These visuals are not mechanical reproductions of scientific devices but rather an artistic perception of their existence and logic, expressed through the flexible brushstrokes of Eastern ink to reinterpret rigid scientific knowledge.

The structure of the work follows a sequence of symmetry, disruption, and reorganization, echoing the cyclical order of Dao Follows Nature. In the mapping, elements such as circuit board textures, Taiji patterns, and celestial trajectories appear, resonating with the silhouette of the Karlsruhe Palace and blending traditional space with a technological context.

Visually, the work draws inspiration from the artistic spirit of Qi Baishi and Wu Guanzhong, while also incorporating the abstract systems of Kandinsky and Mondrian. It retains the brush logic of Eastern calligraphy, water ripples, and flowing smoke, allowing the cold precision of technology and the poetic quality of the East to mirror one another within the same frame. Through this work, we seek to bridge ink and technology, Eastern philosophy and Western science, transforming the architecture into a cross-cultural and cross-temporal field of visual experimentation.
