Introduction to Brilliant Chapters of Qi

In this cultural journey across mountains and seas, Brilliant Chapters of Qi uses a three-minute video as an axis, connecting the thousand-year-old Oriental aesthetics with the contemporary international perspective. The story begins with the stunning appearance of Chinese stand-up collar costumes at an international cultural exchange exhibition and traces back to the inheritance of craftsmanship in Qi's Workshop within the ancient houses of Quanzhou. Four generations of the Qi family empower intangible cultural heritage techniques such as plant dyeing and flower-inserted collars with intelligent technology. Amidst the collision of tradition and modernity, they weave a bond of cultural dialogue stitch by stitch. Facing the crisis of material shortage, the use of ancestral fabrics not only resolves the problem but also creates a wonderful resonance between history and the present. In the end, the costumes, carrying the concept of "One needle threading through ancient and modern times, one collar connecting the world," set sail from the Port of Quanzhou, becoming a bridge connecting global civilizations. The film depicts the beauty of clothing craftsmanship with delicate brushstrokes and showcases the tolerance and innovation of Chinese culture through grand narratives, playing a hymn to traditional techniques stepping onto the global stage.
