In the era of digital economy, the application of new media tools such as mobile devices, social media and virtual reality has accelerated the transformation of museum functions and the reshaping of values, and has also profoundly changed the design concept and communication methods of museum cultural and creative IP. In terms of comprehensive interactivity, participation, personalized experience and reach, games are undoubtedly an application form that combines entertainment and communication effectiveness. The cultural and creative IP image of a museum can be used as the protagonist or important role of an electronic game. Players become IP images or have in-depth exchanges with IP images in the game. This process has a significant effect on the shaping of the cultural and creative IP image.
Inspired by the IP image of the "Bronze Galloping Horse" of the Gansu Provincial Museum, I used UE5 to develop a horizontal 3D parkour game "Horse Stepping on Flying Swallow Simulator" based on the PC. In this game, the player plays the role of a "Bronze Galloping Horse", overcomes the harsh environment of the Kumta Gobi while galloping, encounters bronze flying swallows with different postures and full of spirituality, and rides on them to gallop towards the sky. The game is mainly divided into three main scenes: Gobi, rock and cloud, and seamlessly connected on a large map. As the "Bronze Horse" runs from the Gobi Desert to the clouds, its running speed is getting faster and faster, and the difficulty of the game is increasing accordingly. Like the IP image of the "Bronze Horse" of the Gansu Provincial Museum, the "Bronze Horse" in the game uses a "puppet" effect similar to that in popular games such as "Human Fall Flat" and "Animal Party", making the "Bronze Horse" in the running more humorous and playful.
Cultural and creative IP derivative games are not just mechanical replacements of in-game characters with IP images. From the perspective of product semantics in game design, game design needs to conform to people's sensory experience. Sensory experience refers to the group impression formed by people on a certain type of thing that appears repeatedly in daily life. Designers need to study the public's perception, memory and impression of the game's performance content, so that the game design fits the player's psychological model, so that when they see the interface or a character, they naturally understand its ability and reduce the learning cost of the game. For example, in "Horse Stepping on Flying Swallow Simulator", when players see the familiar "Bronze Horse", they will naturally associate it with the fact that horses are good at running and jumping, so they can quickly understand and accept the core gameplay of the game. The tension brought by the parkour game and the sense of achievement of reaching the finish line make players become one with the "Bronze Horse". Through repeated failures and attempts to reach the finish line, they can also understand the spirit of the "Bronze Horse" that is constantly galloping and uplifting. The "Bronze Horse" has once again become a symbol of speed and strength from a funny "little green horse", and its IP image has been sublimated.
In the digital age, museums are not only the guardians of cultural heritage, but also the leaders of innovation. In the era of self-media with advanced information, how to use new media tools to tell cultural stories well, shape the image of cultural and creative IP, and stay sober in the wave of entertainment is the test currently faced by museums. In the future, with the further development and innovation of technology, the application of digital technology in the design of museum cultural and creative products will continue to promote the development of museums and bring richer and deeper cultural experiences to the audience.
