In 2208, with the rise of extraterrestrial colonization, the moon and Lagrange points became new human settlements. On the surface of the moon, infrastructure designed by humans and built by robots, such as networks, energy arrays, automated farms and residential areas, are becoming more and more complete, showing a utopian ideal social picture. However, the earth itself is pushed to the center of the storm due to environmental degradation, class conflicts and racial tensions.
With the outbreak of an unprecedented nuclear war, a large number of earth residents became "refugees" and flocked to the moon to seek refuge, making the lunar colony overwhelmed and the social order began to be turbulent. In particular, the "new humans" born from genetically modified technology began to question their own human identity. Their existence challenged the philosophical proposition about the continuity of essence and identity - the Ship of Theseus paradox.
After the dust settled, the lunar colony closed the refugee channel, symbolizing the end of earth civilization and the new era of autonomy and independence of the "new humans". At this turning point, the moon residents built a museum at the Apollo landing site to commemorate and reflect on the past earth civilization. Inside the museum, visitors can travel through the long river of history and view every exhibit by wearing virtual reality equipment. These exhibits include biological waste containers from failed genetic engineering projects in 2091, resource containers designed for Earth refugees, etc. Each of them is a silent witness to past times.
This lunar museum is not only a remembrance of the past, but also a prospect of future possibilities. It preserves time slices from different eras, allowing people to re-examine the past, present and future of mankind in exploration.
