Title: "City"
Derived from my childhood days of playing with building blocks, many memories have become blurred, but I distinctly recall the simplicity of those blocks, far less sophisticated than LEGO. They came in square, rectangular, and triangular shapes, with colored wooden blocks outlined in white to depict doors and windows. When my parents went out to work, I would spend the day at home, imagining myself as various characters residing in the city I constructed with those building blocks. As time passed, the blocks remained untouched under the bed, and I grew older, eventually losing even a single piece. Nevertheless, the joy of self-amusement and immersion in my imaginative world never faded.
The artwork "City" incorporates my memories of playing with building blocks during my childhood, where each little figure within the city represents a different facet of myself - from daydreaming and exuberance to socializing and solitude, and more. It also integrates my initial impressions of Chongqing, the city characterized by layers of buildings and hills, especially enchanting when night falls, as the myriad lights illuminate the vibrant metropolis. The entire piece showcases a diverse construction, spanning from the original sketches to pre-production filming, and the subsequent scene building, culminating in this audiovisual spectacle.
