In this world awash with materialism，technology is manifesting desperately to fill the burgeoning void left by the dying spiritual world. “Home”is nothing but a steel-reinforced concrete cage where people imprison themselves for eternity.

“Elysium” is an immersive audiovisual installation, inspired by incisive enquiry into the collective human experience and consciousness, akin to Cooley’s “human in the mirror” , which explores the relationship between the self and a callous, stolid and vapid society.

Do you want to live in this paradise?

We envisioned an imaginary world which was frosty, damp, chaotic, where the actress was told this was the paradise. I contemplate, scream, cover my ears, attempt to escape but to no avail except to be firmly trapped in this prison. The project uses two walls and two projectors, a 4*4 meters mirror blanket to construct an all-enclosing immersion, where you are trapped for eternity.

People dance under the grey sky, scream over fetid tide, wail before an ocean of filth, while the surrendering their souls to the cold machines and messy data. They created Elysium as a sanctuary for future generations, telling the new lives behind the cold screen ——— This is the beautiful nirvana.
