Chaotic Body I: Strange Attractor Original

Strange Attractor is the first in a triptych of films entitled Chaotic Body, and inspired from Chaos Theory, a branch of a scientific study that permeates almost every natural occurrence and event we can observe.

In this series of films, Uncharted Limbo Collective explored the artistic representation of chaotic principles through Dance, Music and Digital Techniques.

The main character exists within a linear narrative and simultaneously interacts with apparitions of her possible selves, emphasizing the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions. The aim was to imprint the past, present and future of the dancer's movements into a 4D field, which then determines the behaviour of the visual effects that expose them.

The particle system which forms the overall aesthetic consists of a series of bespoke algorithms that interpret the dancers’ position, motion and the accompanying soundtrack; translating these variables (in real-time) into a representation inspired by the scientific plotting of strange attractor geometries.
