The time scale of life depends on the observer’s perception.

A mayfly's Day is equivalent to a person's life.No matter what the scenery is, there is no essential difference between all things.Butterflies representing dreams and idealism fly in the dusk, just like the realm you intended to pursue in your dream.

WanLing (a kind of tree in the Chinese legends) can live to be over 500 years old while the ephemeral fungi are incapable to bathe in the sun of the next day.
PengNiao(a kind of bird in the Chinese legends) can fly up to the ninth heaven while the sparrow can only jump between branches.

In the dream, ZhuangZhou believed that butterfly was his incarnation ,who flied in the sky with sword and understand the truth of the world.

Although in different time scale, all the creatures have a short life like mayflies, but heir lives and spirit is passing on to their next generation and achieve eternal freedom.

What’s the meaning of life?It is really nothingness, like a flower in the mirror or the moon in the water. The only certainty is that everyone has his own butterfly in his heart. It will lead you to the Dream Land of Freedom from the fatigue of reality.

The work is based on leapmotion recognition, which establishes a mapping relationship between the position of the viewer's hand and the picture, generating a sense of water halo and color changes. The reflections of the mirrors around the painting produce spatial changes of light and shadow, expressing the exploration and reflection of Zhuangzi's idea of "wandering the world and being in harmony with things" in modern life.
