Ink rhythm is a landscape, an artistic conception, and an emotion. As a traditional artistic expression, ink painting is widely popular in China. The proportional balance between water and ink is both a skill and a spirit. All things pay attention to balance, and where does the balance come from? Digital artist Bai Yu took us through a cross-latitude dialogue with balance through digital media technology, unveiling one of the invisible "balance" veils for us. Since ancient times, Chinese people have paid attention to "天圆地方"（sky is round and ground is rect）, which describes the natural laws of the universe, and also reflects the ancient Chinese people's concept of time and space. In their thinking, it implies the essence of "the unity of heaven and man": everything is created from nothing, and everything is achieved. "Inky Region" is inspired by "天圆地方 ", and the characteristics of ink and wash are dissolved in the virtual space. The central circle is the sky and the center of this space, also it represent a ‘small space’ – paper (usually calligraphy is based on paper ). Everything is always inseparable from the dot, the ink is the drop, the space is the center, the human being is the self, everything starts from the point, "Inky Region" uses dots and circles in different dimensions to construct elements, exploring different forms of dot existence between fantasy and reality.
In Chinese ink painting, landscape can best reflect the artistic conception of ink and water. The balance of brush strokes affects the thickness of lines. “Ink Region” uses creative programs to capture local temperature data in real time and feed it back to the work itself. It uses natural factors to paint the scenery and shade of the work. Real-time temperature data affects work, just as temperature affects people's emotions and mood at the time, every moment and second is unique. At the same time, the work combines hand capture technology to create an interactive experience, allowing the audience to freely find the balance point they want in this special space.
