看不见的界线 Invisible Territories (2016) Original

生活在极其多元化的世界里是我们的幸运还是巨大的挑战？常常不自觉地，偏见就在我们的意识里竖起藩篱挖开沟壑。它深深影响了我们如何感知世界和理解与己相异的他人。这只是我做这个项目的出发点，但欢迎每个参观者自己进行开放式地不同解读。

这个作品是一个运动捕捉空间装置，也是一次刻意设计的令人不安的体验。参观者在探索看不见的界线时可感受到焦虑、压抑、不确定、冲突等参观者可以在空旷的被照亮的光区随意走动。当他们靠近或踩到看不见的边界线的时候，就会触发警报系统————红灯闪烁，并且反复说着“越界”的警报声响起，同时边界线出现在地面上。所有的界线都是随机生成的，然后预存在电脑程序里。只有当所有的界线都被发现后，它们才会消融和消失掉。之后系统和隐藏的边界线地图重置。

Living in an extremely diverse world is a gift to appreciate or a great challenge to face up to in the present time? Very often, stakes are held up and ditches are excavated secretly in our mind even without our awareness, and they can deeply influence how we sense the world, or understand and respond to people who are different with ourselves. This is just the starting point of making this work, and it's welcome to open-interpretation by every participant.

As a motion tracking spatial installation, Invisible Territories is intentionally designed as a disturbing experience, in which participants can get into the feeling of anxiety, oppression, uncertainty, conflict, etc. Participants can walk around on the empty lighting area. When they step close to or over the invisible territories, the alert system is triggered - red lights blink and a vocal warning, "Trespassing!", plays along with the border lines show up on the ground. All border lines were generated randomly and pre-saved in the program. Only when all border lines are discovered, they dissolve and disappear. Then the map is reset.
